This policy explains what data the Duomni app and the duomni.app website (the “Service”) collect, why, and how you can control it. If you don’t agree with it, please don’t use the Service.
1. Who we are
The Duomni service. For any question about your data, write to support@duomni.app.
2. Summary
- We don’t sell your data and don’t show ads.
- Only you see your surprises - not your partner, not notifications, not the invite page.
- AI parses the text of your entries - only with your permission. Without it you can fill in the fields manually.
- Voice is turned into text on your device; audio never reaches us.
- Analytics is enabled only with your consent.
- You can delete your account and all data right in the app.
3. Information we collect
3.1 Information you provide
- Account: your Apple or Google identifier, the name and email they share, or your phone number.
- Couple profile: your name, your partner’s name, birthdays, anniversary and your own dates.
- Entries: wishes, plans and places - text, title, price, link, shop, photos, tickets (PDF or photo), reactions, “done” and “surprise” marks.
- Partner portrait: sizes, favourite colours, brands and “definitely not”. AI builds it from your entries, and you can edit it.
- Support requests: your message and the contact you wrote from.
When you record information about your partner, only add what they would be comfortable sharing. Once your partner joins, they can correct or delete data about themselves.
3.2 Information collected automatically
- Technical data: device model, OS and app version, language.
- Push token - to send reminders.
- Crash reports - error description and app state at the time of the crash.
- Usage analytics - only with consent: screens opened and actions taken, without entry content.
- Data from links: when you add a link, our server opens the public page and takes the title, price and image.
3.3 What we don’t collect
Precise location, phone contacts, photos other than the ones you pick, audio, health data or payment data.
4. How we use information
To run the Service: store and sync entries between you and your partner, remind you about dates, prepare picks, find places, answer requests and fix bugs. Data is not used for advertising.
For users in the EU the legal bases are: performance of a contract (running the Service), consent (AI and analytics), legitimate interest (crash reports and security) and legal obligation.
5. Artificial intelligence
Before your first entry, the app asks for permission to send text to AI. You can tap “Not now” and fill in fields manually, and withdraw permission later in settings.
5.1 Who receives it
The Claude model by Anthropic. If the provider changes, we will ask for permission again first.
5.2 What is sent
The entry text, data from an added link (title, price, shop) and, for parsing, names and dates from the couple profile.
5.3 What is not sent
Phone number, email, account and device identifiers, photos and tickets.
5.4 How long it is kept
Anthropic does not use this data to train models and does not keep it longer than needed to respond and prevent abuse.
6. What your partner sees
Once your partner joins, they see your entries and reactions, and you see theirs. Surprises and the “I’ve already picked a gift” mark are visible only to their author.
The invite link shows anyone who opens it your name, one wish you chose and your anniversary date. It is valid for a limited time and stops working as soon as your partner joins. Only send it to your partner.
7. Other services
We work with providers the Service cannot run without. Each receives only the data it needs and must protect it at least as well as described here.
- Supabase - database, sign-in and file storage.
- Hosting provider - app servers.
- Apple and Google - sign-in with their accounts and push delivery.
- Expo - sending push notifications.
- SMS provider - sign-in codes for phone numbers.
- Google Places - place search for your query.
- Sentry - crash reports.
- PostHog (EU servers) - analytics, only with consent.
- Vercel - website hosting.
The “Buy” button opens the shop’s website, and its own policy applies from there. Affiliate parameters may be added to the link, but the shop never receives the content of your entries.
Some providers process data in the USA; such transfers rely on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
8. How long we keep data
- Account and entries - while the account exists.
- After account deletion - deleted within 30 days, and from backups within another 30 days.
- Crash reports - up to 90 days.
- Server technical logs - up to 30 days.
9. Deleting your account
In the app: Profile → “Delete account”. Without the app, email support@duomni.app from the address or number linked to your account.
We delete your account, profile, your entries, photos, tickets, reactions and the partner portrait. Entries your partner created stay in their account. We send a confirmation once deletion is complete.
10. Your rights
You can get a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict processing, receive it in a machine-readable format, object to processing and withdraw consent. Write to support@duomni.app - we reply within 30 days.
You can also complain to the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights or, if you are in the EU, to your country’s data protection authority.
11. Cookies on the website
The website only sets a cookie with your cookie choice. Analytics cookies appear only after your consent; you can change your mind via “Cookie settings” at the bottom of the page. There are no advertising cookies.
12. Children
The Service is not intended for people under 16. If a child has created an account, write to us and we will delete it.
13. Security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored encrypted, with restricted access. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we do our best to keep your data safe.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy; the date of the last update is shown at the top. We will tell you about material changes in the app in advance.
