Pick an amount, say ₴500, so the gifts are on the same level and nobody feels awkward.

Don’t tell anyone who you drew. You can reveal it after the exchange if you like.

Write one or two things that would genuinely make you happy. Then nobody has to guess.

If there are couples in the group, mark them before the draw: they’ll give each other something anyway.
Secret Santa gift ideas
The best gift is the one the person wrote in their wish. If there’s no wish, here are ideas by budget.
Small budget
A treat the person loves: their favourite tea, coffee or chocolate. Add a card with a few warm words.
Medium budget
A book by an author they already read. A nice coffee mug. Something for a hobby: paints, seeds, yarn.
Bigger budget
A board game for an evening. Tickets to a concert or a show. Something they mentioned but never bought for themselves.
Secret Santa questions
What is Secret Santa and how do you play?
It’s a holiday game for friends, colleagues or family. Everyone secretly gets one person to give a gift to, and gifts are exchanged on one day. You can reveal who gave what at the exchange or keep it a secret.
Do I need to sign up?
No. The organizer creates a group without a password, participants join with a link. Email is optional: if you add it, we’ll send you the link and let you know about the draw.
How many people can be in a group?
From 3 to 50. A draw for two makes no sense: each already knows who they’re giving to.
Does Secret Santa work with an odd number of people?
Yes. Everyone gives and receives exactly one gift, so the number doesn’t matter. You only need at least 3 participants.
Can we do Secret Santa if everyone lives in different cities?
Share the group link in Telegram, WhatsApp or any chat. Everyone sees their recipient, and gifts can be sent by post before the exchange date.
How do I stop a couple from drawing each other?
Before the draw, mark who shouldn’t give to whom. The draw takes this into account and assigns the rest at random.
Can the organizer find out who gives to whom?
No. The organizer only sees who has joined and whether they wrote a wish. Only the giver sees their recipient, with their own link.
What should I put in my Secret Santa wish?
One or two specific things that would make you happy, and what not to give. You can add a link to the item. Then your Secret Santa won’t have to guess.
What if I lose my link?
If you added your email, the link is in the email. If not, ask the organizer: they can issue you a new link, and the old one stops working.
What if someone joins after the draw?
The organizer can cancel the draw, wait for the new participant and run it again. Everyone then sees their new recipient.
How long is the data kept?
We delete the group automatically 60 days after the exchange date. We only store names, wishes and email if someone added it.
